Wheels in Motion
Do you have a love of driving, a passion for helping young people – and a few hours to spare each week?
This volunteering role might be just for you!
The City of Salisbury & City of Playford run a volunteer based mentor driving program, Wheels in Motion that supports young people aged 16-25 to obtain their P’s. The program is available to young people who would otherwise be unable to qualify for their P’s by giving eligible participants access to low cost driving mentors (allowing them to build their driving hours) and best practice road safety content. The key objective of the program is to support young people to obtain their license, reducing a significant barrier to gaining employment.
We are currently recruiting volunteer mentors to deliver the program to more young people.
If you have your full license, an excellent driving history, good communication skills and a desire to help young people – we’d love to hear from you! (All volunteers complete compulsory training and mandatory screenings).

Variety Scholarships Program
The Variety Scholarships Program is open now until 30 November 2020.
Variety offers scholarships in sports and the arts to talented children who are sick, disadvantaged (socio-economically or geographically) or have special needs of up to $3,000 per year.

Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award
Twelve25 invites young people aged 14-24 living in the City of Salisbury to join a leading youth development program as part of the Duke of Edinburgh International Award.
All you need to do is spend an hour a week in each of these areas to complete your Bronze Award in 6 months.
- Improve Physical Wellbeing (this could be playing a sport or as simple as going for a walk)
- Volunteer in your community (you may already be doing this!)
- Learn a skill (eg learn an instrument, art skill or do an online course)
- Experience an adventurous journey (attend a camp!).
The Duke of Edinburgh is internationally recognised and a great addition to your resume!
High school students who complete the award can also gain SACE points for completing levels of the award.

Salisbury Youth Council
The Salisbury Youth Council is an opportunity for young people to make a difference in the community, to be involved in decision making and inform Council about issues that affect young people.
The council is made up of 18 young people aged 14 - 25 who represent different schools, community groups, agencies or clubs in Salisbury.
Each year, the council works on two main projects that the council sees as important for themselves and other young people. The project teams then plan, develop and implement activities around these ideas through consultation with other young people in the community, local businesses, community groups, youth agencies and organisations.
