Meet your 2021 student leaders

This year we have introduced a new student leadership program at Para Hills High School. Expanding from our existing House Captains, leaders next year will have additional responsibilities along with new structures and incentives.

At the end of term 3 we acknowledged the contributions of this year’s House Captains and launched the new program. Role statements were published and students had the opportunity to nominate to become a member of the Student Leadership Team.

As we received enough nominations to fill positions without going to a vote, it is with pleasure we announce the Student Leadership Team for 2021.

The year 8 members will join next year once they are settled into the school.

Congratulations to everyone for making the decision to take on leadership responsibilities for 2021. It's going to be great working with you all and we can’t wait to see all the positive changes you will lead next year!

Student leaders conquer Challenge Hill

In week 7, our student leaders and 3 teachers involved in the new student-led leadership program attended a day out at the Woodhouse Activity Centre.

The day consisted of team bonding and development through completing the activities of 'Challenge Hill'.

All students commented that they loved how everyone had the opportunity of creating connections with peers from different year levels. Students also shared thoughts and ideas of how they envision the future at Para Hills High School. Many of the student leaders noted how they would like to see development in the areas of school grounds and aesthetics, curriculum learning to involve more excursion/incursion opportunities, and an emphasis on building the schools reputation around our core values: respect, rigour and responsibility.

Next year we wish to further develop the student leadership program. In term 1, the new year 8 students will also be invited to nominate as student leaders. Furthermore, the student leadership group will grow again in 2022 as we welcome year 7 students to the school.

Seeing the passion from the group on this leadership excursion, Para Hills High School is looking forward to a strong group of leaders looking impact our school and grow to be known well within the Para Hills community.
